BRIDAL, FORMALWEAR & PROM POLICY
————————————————————
All bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses, prom dresses, evening wear, and formal garments are considered specialty items. Due to their complexity, delicate fabrics, multi‑layer construction, and the precision required, these services are billed hourly.
Hourly Billing Requirement
All formal and bridal work is billed at our specialty hourly rates.
No flat fees apply to these garments.
Estimates
A written estimate is prepared after the initial fitting or assessment.
This estimate outlines:
- Expected hours required
- Specialty handling
- Required materials or supplies
- Fitting schedule
Final Pricing
Final pricing is determined once the total time required to complete the work is known.
Because each gown or formal garment is unique, there are no exceptions to this policy.
Owner Authorization Required
Only arrangements authorized directly by the owner are considered valid and deliverable.
Staff will forward all details, requests, and questions to the owner, who will prepare a written document for review and discussion.
No commitments, quotes, or promises made by staff are binding unless confirmed in writing by the owner.
Why This Policy Exists
Bridal and formalwear often involve:
- Multiple layers
- Boning, structure, and internal shaping
- Hand‑sewn elements
- Specialty fabrics (lace, chiffon, beading, sequins, tulle)
- Multiple fittings
- Precision adjustments
Client Authorization
Work begins only after:
- The estimate is reviewed
- All details are documented
- The client signs authorization to proceed

POLICIES & CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES
————————————————————
Estimates & Quotes
All prices are estimates only until the garment is assessed in person.
If unexpected issues arise during service, pricing may be adjusted accordingly.
Staff are not permitted to give exact quotes without authorization.
All official quotes must be issued on a Stitchcraft quote document and signed by the owner.
This policy is zero‑tolerance.
Documentation & Authorization
To protect both the client and the business:
- All service requests are documented at drop‑off
- Pre‑existing issues are noted
- Client signatures are binding authorization to proceed
- No work begins without signed approval
Satisfaction Policy (Corrections, Not Refunds)
If a service does not meet expectations, we will make every reasonable effort to correct it.
Because tailoring is a labour‑based service, we do not offer refunds.
Corrections are offered when:
- The garment allows for further adjustment
- The request is within 7 days of pick‑up
- The issue relates to the original service
Garment Condition Disclaimer
We cannot accept responsibility for:
- Pre‑existing damage
- Weak, aged, or brittle fabrics
- Structural issues discovered during service
- Damage resulting from factors outside our control
These conditions are always documented at drop‑off.
Specialty Fabric Disclaimer
Specialty materials may require additional time and handling:
- Leather & suede
- Lace, chiffon, silk
- Sequins, beading, appliqué
- Technical/outdoor gear
These items may incur higher rates due to complexity.
No Try‑On Guarantee
Fit results depend on proper fittings.
If a client declines a fitting or provides measurements instead of trying on the garment, Stitchcraft cannot guarantee the final fit.
Client‑Supplied Materials
We cannot guarantee the performance of client‑supplied materials such as:
- Zippers
- Buttons
- Fabric
- Trims
If these items fail, replacement costs apply.
Turnaround Times
Turnaround times vary based on workload and service type.
Typical timelines:
- General tailoring: 1–2 weeks
- Specialty or seasonal items: 2–4 weeks
Rush services may be available when possible.
Pick‑Up Policy
Completed items must be picked up within 30 days unless otherwise arranged.
Items left beyond 60 days may be donated or disposed of due to limited storage space.
Payment Policy
Payment is due at the time of pick‑up.
Deposits may be required for large or custom projects.
Health & Hygiene Policy
All garments must be clean and free of:
- Odors

- Contaminants
Items requiring cleaning before service may be refused or incur additional fees.
Right to Refuse Service
Stitchcraft reserves the right to refuse service for garments that are:

- Accompanied by aggressive or abusive behavior
Custom Work Policy
Custom builds, adaptive apparel, cosplay, and bespoke garments require consultation and may involve deposits.
These services are non‑refundable due to their personalized nature.
